I am responding here in this forum because I believe this is problem we are all dealing with, have dealt with, or will deal with soon.
Regarding your question on how to collect from a deadbeat SS. File a small claims suit against them.$2,000 is nothing to sneeze at.The BBB won't help,and a collection agency takes a share.I've been successful 3 times now not only getting the judgement, but collecting the full amount due plus costs.
IMHO if enough of us get judgements against these crooks, it might prevent them from closing up and opening under a new name, due to the black marks on their credit report. Good luck.
