The Closing Group
Just got a call from them - thanks to all who made comments to "save me" from a possible problem.
I did discuss the non-pay and slow pay issues with the nice lady, citing our forum. She said she is aware of problems and that most are in the past now. I do hope that everyone will update as they are paid so that if this company is on the up and up, they will get the credit for doing the right thing and not running off and hiding from the problem.

update on the check I cashed on Friday, Aug. 15... got a call from my bank on Monday 5 pm that there were no funds to cover my $150 check. My bank would run it again Monday eve. I called US Bank (the check was written on) Tues morn. Was told by rep that The Closing Group had made a couple of deposits & my check would clear right now, but the check hasn't come back in yet.
So then I called Beth from The Closing Group & left a message 9 am & she returned my call 4 pm with an I'm so sorry... we will get you a different check... we had a company write us a bad check, that is why it happened. I told her to hang on till Wed. am & see if it clears before executing another check. She seemed very upfront & sincere.. we will see what happens today. I'll update when I have something to update.

In spite of faxing my invoice, calling them a couple of times and even emailing them at [e-mail address], and although they have told me twice 'the check is in the mail' I still have not been paid for a May 29th closing.
I realize they have been stiffed out of some money, and it appears they are now trying to stiff me out of mine. I'll let you know if I ever get paid.

I got a phone call from them 3 weeks ago saying the check was in the mail, havent received it yet. they owe me since april 2008.

I sent them my collection letter today. They are not manning their office these days, nor are they monitoring their email. I'm assuming they are either out of business....or nearly out of business. Companies that are working are in their offices during working hours. They've not responded to me in the past 2 weeks.

I just received a check from them today for a closing done on 4/30/08. I also received a voice mail from Trevor stating that they have had some issues and left the check number and amount of check to be mailed, however, after a couple of weeks went by....no check. I then called and spoke to Beth, who then found my check made out but still sitting somewhere in the office, she said she would mail it that day.........I received it today. Will deposit it tomorrow and see if it clears. I have worked for the Closing group many times and this is the first time they have been this slow in paying.

update: The check went through the bank system and never bounced, so I thought I would pass the word along to everyone.

Good Morning,
I apologize for the payment issues that we have been having this month. To the best of our knowledge, we have rectified all of the checks that came back with non sufficient funds. I am in the process of getting us caught back up. Please let me know if there were any returned checks that have not been replaced. In the meantime, I appreciate everyone's patience. Unfortunately, we have had some bad luck with our receivables this past month, and I apologize again that it has affected some of you. I hope that you can all bear with me, and please e-mail me with any concerns.
