advice- COMPANIES WHO CANCEL SIGNINGS

I am wantign some advice from the notaries out there. Ok, so on Fri jukl 25 i was called by a company to do signing for the next day sat jul 26 at noon. I was told the docs would be emailed to me the next morning. sat morning at 11am i get a call saying the closing has been cancelled and they need to have it rescheduled. So the same company calls me back thursday July 31 to do the closign for the same couple on friday aug 1 at 5pm... so i check my emauil and no docs then the next day i check my email and no docs.. so i keep calling the company and no one answers. I have done work for this company before and this is the first time i have had a problem. I feel like my time was wasted so I sent an email to the lady who called me for the closing letting her know i never received any docs and no one is picking up the phone, i get no response to my email. I don't know what was going on but everything was very unprofessional, the lady who called me for this signing, I have never worked with her before. I usually deal with one of her co workers so im not sure if it was her fault to the company. I feel as though I should invoice this co for wasting my time,..what do you guys think?

I had the same thing last night. Good luck if you invoice them, dont hold your breath. Its not fair but its the way our profession is.

That is extremely unproffesional of the TC/SS to leave you hanging. That being said, if you demand payment for wasted time, 1 you will get $0, and 2 you probably will be moved far down their list.

I know I certainly would not want to move down the list of a company who treats me like that. NOT.

It's called the cost of doing business. They don't owe you squat, suck it up and move on.

Welcome to "We found somebody cheaper"...

It's also possible there was a double booking or some other oversight; so if you do value your relationship with this company, I'd certainly be talking with them about leaving you high and dry.

I think, it happens often at the end of the month. They schedule your appointment in order to reserve the time in your schedule. It happens every month, some companies are regulars at it.;
