150 page fax backs plus 6 pictures

Took a job on the fly yesterday. Called borrower to confirm time. Weather was really bad here yesterday so told borrower and ss that I would be 1 hour late. Got to my office to print docs after doing two other closings. Started printing the docs as soon as I got to office since I was going to be late. After printing docs I pulled up the confirmation to take w/me. Lo and behold I read that they expect me to fax the entire loan pkg. back to the title co. I called them to verify this while my husband was driving me (due to the horrible road conditions) to the 1 hour away appt. Got all the way to appt and borrower notices that the interest rate is incorrect. Needless to say they didn't sign. I also noticed, after the fact, that the title company expected me to take 6 pictures of the house. Are they nuts? It is pitch dark at 7:30 pm and besides, I have NEVER been asked to take photos. Isn't that something that the high priced appraisers do? Needless to say I won't be working for them anytime soon.

Yikes

Maybe next time they'll ask you to jump up-and-down, tap your head, and turn around all at the same time.

This should teach you to read the Lender/TC instructions before leaving, you were going to be late anyway. No way did they need the entire package, usually only the docs that will be notarized and such. Your call should have been to either negotiate another fee or to refuse the job due to..........IMHO

I did renegotiate the fee thru the ss. I was going to do the faxing even though I thought it totally outrageous. However.....once the borrower and I found out that the interest rate was wrong, I decided I would pass on the job. I sent memo to ss and the title company stating such. Today the ss called me twice to try to get me to go back out. Luckily I have another closing that would conflict and I told them that I would not fax 150 pages anyway. She called me back and said that the lender will not require fax backs if I complete the closing today. I don't want to mention the ss because they didn't do anything wrong. They were just following instructions per the lender and the title company.

So then, tell is who the lender was. We can all steer clear of them.

Allen Mortgage out of Centennial Park AZ. and the title was Transcontinental out of CA. I've never heard of them before. I still can't imagine anyone faxing 150 pages for any reason. No one else has ever been asked to do this? What about taking pictures of the property? I've been doing this for 5 years and this was a first for me.

Took pics once for a mobile home refi

But how they expect you to do this trick in the dark is beyond me. Thanks for the heads up
on the lender. Don't want to go there...tie up phone line for an hour--I don't think so. Sometimes you wonder what they are thinking... or are they thinking at all.

Was this a manufactured home?

I did a couple of these last week. They didn't ask for fax backs.

I had to get pics for a manufactured refi.

It was at a Yacht Club in a nice area. I gave the disposable camera (sent by Title) to the BO with the list of pics they want. While he was doing that I got set up to complete the signing.
