Anyone waiting on payment from Closing Quest ... PLEASE READ

I don't know if this is new news to anyone ... but I filed a complaint with the BBB about this company because waiting 7 months to be paid (and i know some of you have been waiting longer) is unacceptable and the response that Closing Quest sent thru the BBB is that they have lawsuits for over $250,000.00 towards companies that owe them money and they are sorry for the delay in payment but have asked their vendors to have patience.

Has anyone heard about these lawsuits? I have tried to contact them for the past 7 months and all I get is a run around ... No one has ever responded to me explaining anything about these lawsuits.

Is this BULL? Are they just trying to get away with not paying us???

I received the same response from the BBB and I quote:

12/05/2008 coh BBB RECEIVE BUSINESS RESPONSE : To whom it may concern:
This is a standard response for all enclosed and future complaints.
We are currently pursuing lawsuits against several of our previous clients that owe us over a total of $250,000. Two of our biggest customers filed bankruptcy within the last 2 months owing us over $100,000. We are waiting the outcome of these bankruptcies and lawsuits to know how much of this loss we are going to recover.
We have asked all of our vendors to please have patience and bear with us and we have apologized for all the inconvenience we have caused, however, I do understand their frustration
Thank you,
s/T. Griffin
President

That doesn't sound good - I know two of those clients were Archer Land Title and Ace Mortgage...did Respa's for CQ for both these companies last year....

Good luck folks - I'd say IMO anyone with outstanding invoices is looking at another BK filing....

Re: Hmmmmm.......should have added

Don't know how many of you are willing to wait until bankruptcies are resolved or lawsuits are settled - could be years since I'd bet some of the lawsuits (if, in fact, they DO have pending lawsuits our there) are tied to the bankruptcies ... ugh...what a mess.

Re: Hmmm - hope they get buried.

I've been waiting for months for a check. I've heard nothing about bankruptcy or litigation. I've sent them all kinds of crap about my invoice each month. I'll give them the shovel to start digging.

I'd file a collection suit against them

Fortunately, I've received all the money from them that they owed me; however, for those of you who are still fighting with them, I suggest you file a collection suit against them. I never believe what their excuses are, but if in fact they're trying to collect from bankrupt title companies to pay you, you'll be waiting for a very very long time to get paid, if at all. If you file a suit, at least you're in line for payment, and you may get some legal cost back from them. If you continue to wait for the situation to pan out, you'll get the shaft.

All I know is that they owe me since April. That is a looonnnggg Time. They need to pay their bills or get out of the business. If this is what is truly happening, they should have been straight up with us, instead of Rikki and Allision stating no payment and no reason behind their emails. I have followed with the Department of Secretary of State in Tennessee and filed a complaint and also fraud with the Taxation and Revenue. BBB does nothing, waste of time.

I filed a BBB complaint as well...the response was the same...they said a couple of companies that owe them money had gone under and that they had contacted all of their vendors and asked everyone to be patient. What a load !! I have sent countless e-mails, faxes, and made phone calls. They will not respond. They knew they weren't going to pay when they contacted me.

I say it is bull. The home owners paid the fee out of their funds. I can't believe that many title companies have not paid closing quest.
