my check also bounced and I was told-they will not refund bank fees, thats really bad escpecially not getting paid, now having to eat the cost of the bank fees, thats just terrible. is there nothing we can do?

Odd. I just did a cash purchase closing for them yesterday. The documents went back to a Washington, PA address and the assignment came in a totally different format than usual. I questioned the escrow officer when I got the assignment, which was last week because I saw the news about the bankruptcy and he assured me that his division was not included in it.

I hope this is just a fluke. While they seldom send me work (fees) they were one I could count on. It seems such a gamble anymore.

TO me, it's far worse that a company send a worthless check than not pay at all. In fact, it turns what would be a civil dispute in to a potential criminal one for fraud.

I also had a check returned nsf, I called a/p help, Debbie said that it should be resolved by tomorrow to call back and to keep track of any fees charged as they are supposed to refund those to us. She said another division of the company filed bankruptcy which caused thier account to be frozen.
