Fed Ex is running late in FL
Although they usually run early, today they are late, late, late. They're blaming it on the inclement weather "up north", although this package was never flown outside southern FL, lol. Watch out, if you have ON docs being sent via Fed Ex.

Chances are that your package went through their Memphis hub before coming back to Florida. There has been a lot of snow and ice through the region and all dellveries going through the affected hub may be delayed.

I think that all packages go through the HUB then are re-routed back to the delivery address. Even if it is intra-state shipping; it goes to Memphis first. Memphis is not equiped to deal with ice and snow....unlike us Northern's. I will be making it to my appointments today!

Nope, due to the weather
shipping was sent directly from Port St. Lucie to Ft. Myers.

Did you track it Misty? It always amazed me that Fedex packages going from Florida to Florida went through Memphis.

Yep, Sylvia, it's been tracked.
It never left FL. It got on the delivery truck today at 9:31 am for delivery by 10:30 am. It went from Port St. Lucie to Ft. Myers, never ever left the state. Appt. was for an 1.5 hours ago. No reasons, no excuses, no sorries...just late, too bad so sad. Fortunately the lender OK'd signing for tomorrow, as long as the package is rec'd by title Monday for funding (purchase loan, not refi). Screwed up EVERYONE's whole day.

I don't know Misty, I just saw a FedEx semi-truck get stuck.
I'm pretty sure I saw your package hanging from the back of the truck.

Your'e probably right Al.
And they are just placating me. Thanks for screwing up my weekend, Fed Ex, for sending my package to Detroit.

It was probably the same double bottom I saw stuck across 4 lanes of Telegraph Rd (Detroit) on Friday. (Have you ever seen a double bottom driver try to shovel his wheels free?)

Blaming it on the weather up north is pure crap. We had some weather earlier in the week. I had 5 packages dropped for a title company in Cincy. My friend, 2 counties over, had a few packages going to the same title company. When I was notified they did not arrive, I tracked and all these packages were misdirected through Columbus when they are usually directed through Lexington. Whenever they go through Columbus, they don't make it. Tracking results just said where it was @ 915am (at the Cincy HUB). Upon checking around 5pm, they added *delayed due to weather
That's crap. It was late because they sent it through the wrong hub and the title company should not have had to pay for overnight delivery when it wasn't delivered. However, UPS doesn't have to reimburse them if there are "weather conditions".
So the fact that there was weather somewhere (Memphis) means Fedex can use that as an excuse for not delivering on time.
Just my Opinion.

That is exactly what they're doing, Joan. Except this one went to the right "hub", went on the correct

Still waiting for my 10AM UPS delivery. On the truck somewhere. Just called the borrower and said that I can't do noon, that I'll call when the docs arrive, and we'll try and meet somewhere. At least I have (edocs) for my 1:45. What a PITA. I'm taking next week off!

In defense of FedEx (and UPS)
They may be running late right now. Yes, we do expect our docs to be delivered next day; however, Christmas is less than a week away.
I did a closing for a UPS driver last night. He was telling me that he wasn't even through his whole route for pickups yet earlier in the day and didn't have any room on the truck for one more package. He had to go back to the HUB to empty the truck before he could even finish his rounds. I'm sure many other delivery personnel are running into the same situation right now.
Everyone expects packages to be delivered before Christmas Eve, but don't bother shipping until the last minute. Please try to be patient with them--this is a very stressful time of year.

LOL, sure........ Tell that to the lender, the title company, the signers. And that lock rate? Let's hope it doesn't expire before we sign.

Re: In defense of FedEx (and UPS)
I sure don't blame the drivers. The (usually) same driver comes here twice a day. UPS and FedEx. Nice people. Yes, it's that time of year, and EVEYONE should realise that there may be delivery problems. Why can't Title plan ahead a little? Yeah, I know there's been an uptick in business this week, but really? If you think UPS or FedEx is bad try the USPO. Last week my local branch had two people at the counter, the drive up boxes were overflowing. Why the PO is bleeding money? Could it have anything to do with the service they offer? I'm still taking next week off!

Re: Did you ever get them?
Got mine at a little after 3 PM, Had to drive to Commerce City where the guy works (20 miles in rush hour) He lives 4 miles from me. At least it’s signed and in UPS. I wanted to call and cancel the whole thing, or charge more…But it’s just part of the business…no one’s fault

Mist, why didn't they just e-doc them to you and save all
this hassle? The signing would have been completed and you wouldn't have gone through all that. After an hour, I would have asked them to email them and lets get it done for another $25 bucks. I guess that would have been too easy.

Re: Mist, why didn't they just e-doc them to you and save all
This particular TC likes to give the brws copies inside their own little folder, and they only pay a certain fee. Not to mention, the HUD was already complete. We probably would have gone with e-docs had the lender say they could only sign yesterday, but they agreed to move the signing to today.
