Has anyone gotten their own BGC?

If so through what company, and what was the average cost? I will not use one that checks credit, my credit is no one's business but my own.

I got my own through the PA State Police 2 years ago when the BGCs were 'all the rage'. To date, not one company has asked me for it, except for LSI this past week. It cost me, I believe, $10 and I had it within a few minutes.

I'm not positive but I don't think it accessed my driving record ... I've never understood why anyone needs that. Let's see, December of 2006 I received a speeding ticket so I should, in effect, receive a higher ranking from a company than someone without a speeding ticket ... because it shows I'm willing to go faster to get to an appointment rather than someone doing the speed limit who will then be later than I would have been ... by 3 or 4 minutes.

Funny Sue....

Love your reasoning, Sue. You're right.....what does my driving record have to do with closing loans? And if I drive faster..... to get to a closing on time.....especially when edocs are normally LATE....then I should actually get paid MORE money since I am such a dedicated closer willing to break the law to get there on time! Geez....these people drive me nuts. They must sit up at night looking to make things more difficult! I'm just waiting for them to ask for my DNA and blood type.....surely there is SOME reason why they would want this information too!

Don't worry Terri,

next you will see NNA "Certified Blood Sample Completion", $149.00 annually. Then they'll be an icon of a blood drop with a check mark next to that person's name on their website. I'm sure it is on the table right now waiting for approval.

Re: Don't worry Terri,

Don't give them any ideas RachelSmile

(Of course that $149.00 annually is a special price when you purchase the membership and a background check, otherwise it is $300.00 annuallySmile )

LSI just asked me for another one, they did one 3 years ago. I went to the Private Investigations Firm down the hall, and they are doing it for $50. I'm happy.

I have not gone through this company, but I have regular contact with many of the people who work for them, since they are in an office building where I regularly visit.

I don't know what, exactly, they offer for individuals... I just know they exist and the people seem pretty nice. Although the ones I' have the most contact with are in "pre-employment", whatever that means.

Try orange search button. There's been a lot of discussion lately, especially with FASS requiring it. They are, of course, lowballers & I wouldn't get it on their account.

Yes. I renewed my commission in June, which in CA now requires a full FBI and DOJ background check -- probably more thorough than what is offered by the NNA. That's as much as I intend to do on that issue, barring any major changes. And I have received calls from some companies that were on the list of those claiming to require BGCs. I don't know if a credit check was included (I don't think so), but they might feel that a person with serious credit issues might be more tempted to do something unseemly than someone with good credit. With current market conditions, I personally feel that's a less reliable indicator than it might be in other times.

Axiom

Yes, through Axiom and I think it was about $50. I have also been background checked by my son's public school for free.

Funny thing is that Axiom showed an alias for me and addresses I never lived at. Evidentally, there is a woman named Julie (different last name) that lives in the western part of Michigan and the first three and last four of our social security numbers are the same, it's just the middle two that are different.

I never thought twice about it until now when I keep getting credit card/lawyer calls for this woman and even my mother is getting calls for her because of this mess.

Now I bet my credit profile is a mess, and I should have taken care of this 2 years ago when Axiom found this.......what a pita.

I refuse to go through any nna backed company.
