Give it a rest, Leon

I can relate to the downsizing, but sheesh.
Are you going to take up the first page of the forum with your ponderings?

Today I cut some expenses too...

I put my 1" wide scotch tape on the paper cutter and now have 2 rolls of 1/2" wide tape. I also split the roll of 2 ply tp to 1 ply and have 2 rolls. Will let you know later of other cost cutters as I dream them up.

Re: Today I cut some expenses too...

while you have the paper cutter out, if it's almost empty, slice open your toothpaste tube. With a butter knife, you can scrape together enough toothpaste for one good brushing and perhaps a second quickie.

Re: Today I cut some expenses too...

When I buy fabric softener, I pour about 1/4 of it out into another container and fill the bottle back up with water. It dilutes it just enough to get many more loads from without the static. By doing this I get the 5th bottle free. That's my tip of the day.

And Sue, I hope it never gets that bad for me to have to cut my toothpaste tube open and use a knife to get the rest out. I squeeze and squeeze till no more comes out, but that's as far as I will go. lol

Re: Today I cut some expenses too...

Actualy vinegar works well as a fabric softner - you just dont get that april fresh smell that most most fabric softners leave behind (and with the vinegar there is no scent at all).

Thank you Misty

I thought I was having computer problems. I've been trying to find "the premier website for professional notaries" all day but kept ending up on Leon's personal blog.

I actually sort of liked that reply.
However I must say, although I think Leon's posts are sometimes a little nebulous, remember we here in CO must deal with a little higer altitude, and a bit less oxygen, and in his defence I know a SS here that has hired him, and they say he does an "excellent job" as a "Signing Agent".

Re: Downsizing in a struggling economy

I too am cutting cost. I went from AT&T DSL to ATT Uverse internet, Cable TV. I was able to cancel the DSL phone line and cut my bill from $250 to $160. I am using my Walmart credit card to get gas the cheapest and also save .03 by using the card and paying off each month.

Re: Downsizing in a struggling economy

I too use a Wal-Mart "gas" card, but I put money on it using my PayPal funds. That way I get the 3¢ gas discount and a 1% cash-back bonus from PayPal. So, when gas was $1.95/gallon, I saved 5¢ on each gallon from Murphy's.

When gas was over $3.00/gallon, the PayPal bonus was better than the discount from Wal-Mart.

Re: Downsizing in a struggling economy

Leon I agree it seems that every time I see/read the news it is about downsizing.
I too cut off the cable and started going back to school (health sciences) to try and prepare.
I have cut down alot on the little things that add up!
