When I print from Firefox here at work I get garbage. Anyone understand why? and what to do to fix it?

Every time that I have problems with firefox in order to finish what ever I am doing and I do not want to trouble shoot things, I just switch to IE and things work smoothly. I still love firefox.

Same here.
I liked Firefox as a browser, but also found that some print utilities were not compatible.

Re: Same here.
I never had this problem until I upgraded to 5.0. Will check the website to see if there are any issues.

That may be part of your problem - the latest version is 3.0.4 ...

I upgraded to the latest version of firefox recently and thats when I started having problems printing to. If I know that I have to print out a pdf file, I switch to IE... otherwise i love firefox for everything else much better then IE.

Be sure you are using Adobe Reader 9
If you are using Firefox 3.0, especially 3.0.4, you need to use Adobe Reader 9 to ensure proper printing.
Be aware that there are some direct printing utilities that are only supported under IE.

PAW - I am just printing from the browser - nothing Adobe related - ie paying bills online and printing the confirmations, etc.

Re: Be sure you are using Adobe Reader 9
Lorna said she always switched to IE when printing PDF files. That prompted my response to her post about using version 9.
As for your problem with the 'online banking' not printing correctly in Firefox, this is a known issue with some bank's software, as it was only designed for IE. I used to have the same issue until Wachovia switched software packages. Now everything works perfectly in Firefox. Again, it may be the application on the server not properly supporting Firefox.

Re: Be sure you are using Adobe Reader 9
There is an add-on for FireFox called IE View, which allows you to quickly reload web sites in IE while still in Firefox. Comes in handy when you find websites that insist on using IE-specific code; it saves you the trouble of closing down one browser, starting up another, and then navigating back to the site again.

Never a problem, but .......
From my early days I got in the habit of downloading files to my computer, closing the browser, then printing them in Adobe stand alone mode, never in a browser window whether it be Firefox, IE or Netscape (remember them? I am telling my age now). I still use that practice no matter what operating system I am using whether it be Windows, Linux or Mac. Printing through a browser window can open a vulnerabliity through which someone could gain access to your computer, although it is rare these days.
It works no matter what the file, pdf, swiftview, whatever.

In addition to printing problems, you have to have IE to access the Amtrust site for e-signings. I found that out the hard way. My new laptop was set up with Firefox.
