Should I need multiple BGCs???

2 years ago when I was still a member of NNA I got my LexisNexis BGC through them. I am no longer a member so now I renew with LexisNexis but through a LSI offering. Less money and didn't have to join NNA. Now Fiserv doesn't want to accept it because it is not through NNA. Same information, same company. Fiserv says it must be either Axicon or through NNA.

Now reason I didn't go with Axicon is because my husband used this service through Fiserv and ended up having to do 2 upgrades of information because other tc's said it didn't go back far enough and was missing driving information. Each upgrade cost more money.

So apparently in order to please everyone you have to either join NNA, get both Axicon and LexisNexis or get axicon and pay for upgrades.

I feel like I'm stuck in a catch 22.

Not you, Yowheelz--you obviously have a lot...unlike the people wanting this completely unrequired nonsense. It doesn't go back far enough? Well, what about the fact that it's HISTORY as soon as it's done? What has a driving record got to do with what we do? As someone facetiously pointed out a while ago...speeding tickets would tend to show that you are committed to being on time--no matter what. I wish the companies who want unneeded things would wake up and stop being 'played' by that certain national COMPANY who only interest is the size of their bank account. OK, rant over. Merry Christmas, y'all...

Why? A company is entitled to establish their own hiring criteria. If they only want to hire NNA agents with an NNA background check, that's their prerogative. (They may be misguided, but it's still their prerogative.)

Now, if Fiserv attempts to get other companies to follow the same restrictions, then the DOJ may have an interest.

If that were so, then if I wanted I could only hire white, right-handed, blond,blue-eyed females under 30 years old. I think that this still falls under a discriminatory action.

But not all discriminatory hiring practices are illegal. In fact, very few are actually illegal. And even within the protected classes people still manage to discriminate. Is it fair? No it isn't but it happens every single day.

But PAW is right, companies have the freedom to dictate their hiring practices. I know of an marketing firm here locally that will not hire anyone who got their degree from Univ. of Phoenix. In fact, they openly tell people in their hiring paperwork that UP graduates need not apply.

Messed up? You bet it is. But, some people consider UP to be a diploma mill, especially at the Bachelor's level. There's nothing stopping them from doing that.

Just like a company can determine which background checks they trust for their business purposes. Whether we think it's right or wrong hardly matters. Just ask those of us in California who passed the background check and fingerprinting just to get our commissions. You'd think they'd take a State-issued commission as proof... but nope. Misguided and unfair? Sure. Discriminatory? You bet. Illegal? Not so much.

I think there is a difference though in dictating hiring practices and steering candidates to particular outlets, such as NNA. I believe they are trying to create an unfair advantage for said organization and in a strict interpretation would fall into the scope of the reported DOJ investigation of the NNA.

wouldn't matter they won't accept it. If you lay the NNA LexisNexis next to the LSI LexisNexis the same information it there in the same format. I just don't understand why one LexisNexis is accepted and the other is not. It makes you wonder if they have some connection to NNA.

I contacted LSI about my NP screening they will accept this. Fiserv will not.
