Signing Carolina

I have done a couple of signings for this company in the past and had previously had a good experience with them paying as agreed. I recently went on a closing and there were errors which they say are all my fault. I did go out three times to the customers home which is 30 minutes from mine three times. The closing is completed. I went back out there as I said I would and now they are refusing to pay me anything at all. I know that I made an error or two but I did go out there three times at my expense and time. They claim they can not pay me anything at all now because of having to fed ex the docs three times. That is Bull!! I know that I made a mistake but it is closed now and I deserve some kind of compensation. They must be under new ownership. I do many signings for Nations Direct (who pays as agreed upon all the time. Nations Direct is most likely who I will always stick with from now on. I can see if I had to take less because of fed ex fees but I deserve something. I don't give a dang!

I offer an error-free guarantee to my clients

If I had made that many mistakes, I wouldn't expect any payment, and chalk it up to
OTJ-training.
So you expect them to cover 3 Fed Ex shipments and pay you, too?
In my world, not a chance.
You might want to get more experience before facilitating any more closings.
Everyone makes a mistake now and then, but 3?
Be grateful their lock rate didn't expire or that the brws didn't cancel
with the lender due to your negligence.
We already know you must be a low-baller, as we know the fees ND is willing to pay.

Re: I offer an error-free guarantee to my clients

That is fine and if I knew I was not going to get paid at all I would not have went back to the closing period. I was nice enought to do that in the first place at my expense. I have done over 100 closings for Nations Direct and they at least always pay. The fees may be less but again they pay. I further more have not had this problem with any other company other than Signing Carolina. My advice to other notaries is that if you have to go back out on an appointment with Signing Carolina don't go at all.

better advice

...My advice to other notaries is that if you have to go back out on an appointment with Signing Carolina don't go at all. ...

Do your job correctly so you are not required to go out 3x. You were 'nice enough' to fix your own error at your own expense? My, my ..

A serious question ... what errors were there that you had to go back 3x?

Sorry Melissa you are not going to get any sympathy from anyone here. I am also a nationwide SS and after 3 callbacks I do not think that I would pay you anything either.

Learn from your mistake on this one and mover on with your closings.

Re: I offer an error-free guarantee to my clients

If they have a policy of "docking" your pay for errors, then by making the number of errors you admit you made you probably "docked" yourself right out of a check. I don't know if that's their policy as I don't work for them but it sounds to me like they have a good basis for not paying you.

By the way - going back out to correct your own errors isn't being "nice enough" - it's what you SHOULD do as no one else should be responsible for your errors but yourself. Why SHOULD they pay you to correct your own mistakes? Answer: they shouldn't..that's on you.

Nations Direct and Signing Carolina $50-$75(edocs) for a closing. 60 minute spent driving “I do many signings for Nations Direct”.
1. How do you make any money?
2. I hope title companies and SS read this post. You get what you pay for

I can't see why you would not be embarrassed by even posting that you made that many errors. Although we all want to be paid for the work we do, after so many errors on your part and the extra costs incurred by whovever gave you this signing, my opinion is that you deserve nothing. We are paid to provide error free work. I'll even bet the extra Fedex fees were more than they were paying you for the job. Time for you to take ownership of the bad as well as the good!
