Title Producer License

I am so confused...I was told I need to take this course in order to do any signings. When I notified the state they told me they had no knowledge of this. Does anyone out there know what if any signings I can legally do without this license? I found that the course is not available in my area until January. Anyone have knowledge of an online course??

Sorry, I guess I should let you know I am a notary in the state of Indiana.

Some states do require this. I know that Maryland and Indiana are two of them.

Per the IDOI website, you don't need to take an exam, but you do need to attend 10 hours of education and submit an application. It looks like it's kind of expensive, too.

Go to this link http://www.indianalandtitle.org/. Yea welcome to paying $300.00 for a course and hundreds of dollars in continuing ed. License is only good now for 2 years and you must do 7 hours every 2. Just so happens there are never any 7 hour courses....

ohh and if you have done any closings without it...shame on you and the companies that contracted you. This is a huge no no and not good if the state finds out.

Regarding signings that you can do--- You can do all the notary work that you wish. If you wish to conduct real estate closings-- you are not legally able to do it without your Title Producers License.
