fedex time changes-read carefully

Maybe this is old news-but it is new for me and I wanted to pass the info. along. I have some docs that need to ship out today. (Sat.) So I went to the fedex web site to check pick up times. I was very surprised to see the Fedex/kinkos I go to most often will be closed all day on Thursdays. Not only that, some of the pick up times have changed. And some drop boxes will not be serviced at all in my area on Fridays. I live in Sacramento , Ca...not some tiny town with a small population. So I guess Fedex is cutting hours as a cost cutting move. You know it would be a bad deal if you responsibly dropped off your docs to find out there was no service to that box on that day or the time had changed-yikes! So double check all you pick up times...

Yep, that was one of the things I was refering to when

I posted a suggestion a couple of weeks ago, that everyone should become familiar with the holiday schedule (in person locally) so you don't have any surprises. The holiday schedule change is nothing new, as because of any holiday, they have to give their drivers an extra day off, or pay overtime, so the schedule is figured out this way. And you have two of those holidays this month. So anytime you have a holiday coming up, whether it be Easter, Preidents day, Veterans Day, whatever, you should check your holiday schedule a couple of weeks in advance to see what the changes, if any, are.

No pick up on certain days

When I looked on line the other day..Many places in my area no longer have pickup on certain days of the week at the drop off locations. I am glad that I looked. I don't think it was just for the holidays. Signs of the times.

Re: No pick up on certain days

I really do think it's just the holiday schedule. There is no way FedEx could not pick up every weekday; overnight delivery is their bread and butter, AND their national reputation! Not picking up during the week would send customers straight to their competitors who do pickup,
so I can't see that happening.

Check the schedule next week after the holidays, and see what it says then, or ask at your local FedEx Office store.
