Had one call so far this month (NSC) it was 40 miles away from my house. (must of been a real bad deal if no one closer took it) I never called back due to the distance.

Why did you turn it down? NSC pays. They always meet my fee and have always paid me. I've done over 50 closings for them. Just add $25 for distance. I usually charge $100 for up to 20 miles, $125 20-40 miles, $150 40-60 miles. Depending on who the scheduler is, they usually meet your fee right away. Once in a while they have to "get the fee approved."

I actually seem to have more calls lately. There are some I just do not accept.
The ones I have accepted seem to be slow pay, better than no pay and I did have a cancel at the table.

Business picking up a bit now for me aftera being slow the past few months. This past Friday, I had a signing request for that evening which I had to decline because I was already booked to do a signing at the same time which I was informed about a couple of days previously.
