Business cards on line??

I have been trying to make business cards specifically for only being a notary. I don't want the NSA stuff on it. I search for the kind you can make at home and of course you get directed to a site that wants you to pay for it. I've been all over the web's today. Does anyone know of an ACTUAL free business card you can make for yourself? Please share the info if you know. My eye's are buggy now. Smile TY in advance.

The Post asked a simple question, or at least one ...

... that has simple answers.

A Private Message answering such a question / request does nothing to help the community at large, while it may help the single recipient. Many people are probably interested in such things and don't Post, for reasons of their own, such as being flamed by people who consider it a basic question.

We used to call people who read Forums (sorry, Your Hughness, I mean Fora) and didn't Post "lurkers". That term is now considered by some to be offensive.

Anyone who has created an account here can Post. There is still free speech. And free reading, even for those who have not created a Profile.

Re: The Post asked a simple question, or at least one ...

When I typed in my response, the message was rejected. I tried 2 more times, both times rejected, therefore, a PM was warranted. I noticed yesterday that someone was trying to mention the same company, and went to code, V****P****. I don't understand the censoring on this board, but, that is the way it goes sometimes. Not my rules, I just have to follow.

"There is still free speech. "

No, there is plenty of censoring here, believe it or not. I have attempted on several occassions to make a point and had my post removed entirely; to use certain words that are not cuss words and the post not even taken, rather categorically denied. I can find no rhyme or reason for some of it. I can discuss in private, but not on this forum.

I believe you can make them in Word. Look around the templates.

Business cards the easy, free way: WWW.Avery.Com

Visit the Site and you can download their free software. (Yes, _totally_ free.) Design your card, buy Avery's "Clean Edge Business Cards", number 5877, at Staples, etc., print, break apart, and you'll have professional-quality cards.

If you need help please feel free to contact me and I'll walk you through it!

Re: Business cards the easy, free way: WWW.Avery.Com

I was under the impression that providing a website was considered advertising and/or competing with what Not Rot has to sell so I always send a private reply when someone asks "where can I find a ......" or "can someone recommend a.....".

Re: Business cards the easy, free way: WWW.Avery.Com

Yes, you can make decent enough business cards using the free Avery templates on line and buying the clean edge business cards at Staples or the like and print your own, but when you do the math it's not that cheap: $16.29 for 200 cards, then add the cost of printing, minimal if B&W but much more if color. So, if you are not in a hurry, every now and then, Staples offers very simple B&W business cards for $1.99 for 100 cards. To me that's as close to free as you can get.
Alternatively, if you have Publisher or are handy with Microsoft templates in Word, design your own, print on 67lb cardstock and cut them with one of those small cutters you can also get at Staples (or Office max, don't mean to advertise any one in particular). You'll pay about the same price for the cutter as you would the 200 Avery clean-cut cards but you can use it to make many, many cards.

You are correct, for Sites or sales of things that Harry ...

... sells, but not for such things as toner, paper, business cards, etc. I would never intentionally mention the name of a Find-a-Notary Site or Site that sells journals. You may see even Harry make reference to names such as 123, knowing that the cognizenti will know to whom he refers and the rest won't be checking out a competitor....

IMHO, a PM is appropriate to explain an obscene reference ("WTF?"Wink or clue in somebody who asks what organization we're talking about when we say "XYZ".

Re: You are correct, for Sites or sales of things that Harry

Okay, great. I pm'd carol with my favorite online business card site so here it is for everyone else:
www.printsmadeeasy.com

The first order is free, minus shipping and the "extras" like glossy, double sided, etc. They have so many templates and they're very easy to customize. And the quality is outstanding. I get so many compliments on my cards - that they look professional.

Tip: If you order, pick the cheapest shipping. It gives an approximate date for each choice of shipping, the most expensive being the fewest days and the cheapest being the most days. So far my orders have always arrived within 5 days and not the 10 - 14 days that the website says.
