Collecting on Past Due Accounts

While perusing the NNA's signing agent section, they have a link to a company that collects past due bills, including reporting the offending company to the three credit bureaus. Maybe you already know about this company. I thought it was interesting and to me, worth it just to get the deadbeat SS company's credit record marked. Bad SS may not care about being reported to BBB, or being slammed on forums, but I think they just might care if their credit record was attacked. If I could post the link, I would but since it would be considered advertising, send me a PM and I'll pass on the link.

I did notice in the info that for commercial package, they don't have the credit bureau reporting option but maybe one can go after the owner of the SS, like when people sue a department, then individuals (i.e. police dept, and the officer personally)

Have to admit XYZ corp. has quite a racket going. They have a bunch of deadbeat co's on their list to contact for work, then when the deadbeats don't pay, you pay an affiliate of xyz corp. to attempt collection. Nothing like being diversfied, HUH?

Anyone can get a collection done without going through the xyz corp. as well as file a report with the credit bureau. They don't need to waste money becoming a member of xyz corps several divisions to do this. Also, if the company has closed it's doors I don't believe the company's credit record will matter. Even if the same person opens another company the old record doesn't attach.

The link goes directly to the collection company.

<<<They have a bunch of deadbeat co's on their list to contact for work,...>>>

And so do all the other notary forums and sites. Their lists are just as outdated as XYZ corp's, with a third of the company names being B.O. (bad order).

<<<They don't need to waste money becoming a member of xyz corps several divisions to do this.>>>

Who said anything about becoming a member of XYZ corp to simply "look at a link"?

<<<Anyone can get a collection done without going through the xyz corp. as well as file a report with the credit bureau.>>>

And anyone can park their own car without using valet service. And anyone can cook their own meals without going to a restaurant. And anyone can change their own oil without going to Jiffy Lube. And anyone, and anyone and anyone....ad infinitum......!!!!! But why DO people utilize the services of others? Because they want the convenience of SOMEONE ELSE taking care of it.

Renee has dealt with collections that report

to the credit reporting bureaus. Perhaps she'll see this and post...I think it was D&B but I can't remember.

Whatever the times are, convenience is great if you're willing to pay for it.

You were clearly advocating the use of the NNA services in

your original post, which means purchasing multiple memberships, and to gain access NotRot's company list you don't have to be a premium member to utilize, it's free, unlike the NNA. The link may well go directly to the collection agency, but they have ties to the NNA otherwise they wouldn't be recommended on the NNA site.

A better question is why you are so angry that I pointed out that it wasn't necessary to use the NNA collection agency and that individual NSA's could do it on their own. I'm sure that there are many that aren't aware they don't have to go through an organization to get a collection agency to collect a debt for them. Thereby saving the membership fees to the organization. What is wrong with giving an alternative solution to the same problem? Or are you more interested in being an advocate for the NNA by advertising their services on this forum.

Re: You were clearly advocating the use of the NNA services

Angry? Nah Anyone with an IQ above 10 KNOWS they can collect debt on their own.

My post basically said, "I found this, if interested PM me for the info." It's really that simple, but you want it to be complicated.
I could have said, "Found this site, check it out" and never mentioned NNA and you wouldn't have been the wiser. The only mention of NNA is that I found the link on it because it's not secret where I found this source.

Barbara, you are angry that I rebutted your "anybody can collect on their own" argument.

Advocating NNA? Nah, only mentioned where I saw the link. People can look at the link and decide for themselves if what that company offered is a service they can use.

What are you talking about? The link takes one directly to the collection company and they can utilize that company's service DIRECTLY.....PERIOD!!!!!

And no it's not D&B, as someone suggested, whatever that is.

Re: You were clearly advocating the use of the NNA services

Since I'm not the one using exclaimation points and shouting (typing in all caps) as you are, obviously I'm not angry. However, it wasn't necessary to mention the NNA or the fact that you located the link on the NNA website in order to send someone to a collection agency link. By the way, D & B is Dunn & Bradstreet, they rank the companies for credit, the way Equifax, Transunion etc. do for people.

Re: You were clearly advocating the use of the NNA services

Exclamation points and one or two words in all caps is for emphasis. As far as being angry, I could care less if someone uses a collection agency or collects on their own. Whether or not it's necessary to mention the NNA is beside the point. There is no crime in saying I found something while reading somewhere. I found something I thought was interesting and shared it with those who were interested. Those who weren't interested didn't reply - nothing was foisted on anyone. Thanks for clarifying who D & B is. A lot of people, including myself, learned something new.
