Computer was bogging down all the time...
with Internet Explorer 7.
I use Windows Live One Care and one of the programs involved in it (MsMpEng.exe - a known issue with IE and WLOC) was too much of a drain on the computer's resources while I was using IE. My cpu was almost always at 100%.
I changed to Firefox and no more problems. My computer is as fast as it ever was. WLOC no longer burdens the computer.
Before, I was always having to shut down IE or it would be DOG SLOW.
Just thought this tidbit might help someone else before they went out and bought another round of memory. I would have but mine is tapped out. It should have not had any problems. I'm a Firefox fan now.

I have been using Firefox for 3 1/2 years now and love it. Since my websites are MS based I MUST use IE to do any maintenance, check email, etc. and I hat it. IE is nothing but a PITA, IMO.

I have to use IE for a few of my online tasks as well...but since discovering what a resource hog it was, I'm moving on.

I am the same way. I have one program I run that required Firefox so I started using it and love it. I only use IE when it is required.

AND another benefit of using FireFox is that they do not collect your information like IE does and turn around and sell it or give it out...at least that's the intel I got that info from a tech guy I use.

Thanks, Brenda
I just took your advice and switched to Firefox.
What a difference in speed! It was like going from dial-up to cable!
Thanks! LauraV
