Does anyone in this group perform weddings?

I just wanted to know if any of you perform weddings. And if you have ever done both the wedding and loan closing for the same couple. If you have, please drop me an email and let me know if you noticed a change in their personalities from the wedding to the closing. How did your relationship with them effect the closing? Thanks, Leonardo

Re: Not in Texas...not allowed

Yes I know if you are only a notary public in Texas it is not allowed but I also serve as an Officiant which allows me to conduct weddings. I just want to get some feedback so I can determine if I should do a closing for someone that was a wedding client in the past.

Me and the most of the Florida NSA Network do, and 2 couples I know, are about the same personality wise as before the wedding and closing. We're still friends, they're still in LUV.

I am a JP in NH and I do my signings as a JP because notarizing is part of our allowed duties.
I did do a loan for a couple I married and they were delighted that it was me.
It was one of what I call my happy loans. That is, they were reducing their rate and payments.
My unhappy loans, as I call them, are the ones where people have either been involved in a divorce with the resulting financial chaos or ones where they are mortgaging to the hilt to get out of a consumer debt problem.
I did do another loan for a couple that I married and they were fine about it.
They had a great wedding and as it happened a memorable reception, which I couldn't attend.
The bride was arrested for disturbing the peace because she beat up a guy that attacked the groom and then the police officer that came to break it up.
We laughed about it.

Now that one is very funny! I'm just concered that the frame of mind entering a wedding vs a financial transaction might add some strained relations between the couple and myself. Thanks for the input.

Cannot do weddings here. But, have done an affidavit regarding common law marriage that included when the arrangement started per the tc instructions. He wasn't so sure he wanted to sign until his wife let him know he had 5 seconds to sign or else she'd leave with the kids...

Thanks for all the emails (and a few calls). I will do the closing when it comes up.
