Follow up letters after signups

I was planning (or thinking of making a plan, actually) to follow up on all of my ss signups. I wanted to let them know that I am still available and ready for any assignments available for my area. However, after searching for anything here that touches on the subject, I have failed to find anything relevant, or perhaps the correct search words escape me at the moment. Would this be appropriate? Would it be proper to email them or re-sign with them? Any comments, ideas, or pointers would be very appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

Cheryl, I used to send a thank you card after each signing

I should get back in the habit with these slow times.

Hi Cheryl,
The method that has worked for me is to contact the SS via phone. I ask them if they have rec'd my paperwork and am I in their database.

I send brief emails to my clients that I have not heard from in about 1 month. I just let them know that I am available to take whatever they have in my area. Most of the time I get a reply back....and then I get some jobs. Also, do this for holidays. I will be doing an email Valentine message too. I don’t even celebrate Valentines Day with my husband.....but everyone likes to feel specialSmile This works for me. To be honest- letters and thank you cards take too much time for me. The email is quick and the person can respond really easy to it. I was in corporate sales and marketing for 8 years and the email method was much appreciated there too. JMO

I was curious, what should the wording be? I've never been very good at things like that?

Since Cali hasn't jumped all over you for this, I'll chime in. I would think that the content of these emails would be the kind of individual marketing collateral that each person should figure out on their own. I'd be very, very surprised if anyone was willing to share something like that here, where their own competition could copy it and use it with the same clients they are wanting to work for. I'd assume that anyone who does this puts time and effort into it. THEY deserve the benefit of their hard work -- no one else.

If you think about it, work at it, and spend time at it, you'll come up with something that reflects who you are. And you will get better with practice.

Thank you, Janet, for "chiming in" and to be "jumped all over by another member" would be highly inappropriate for my question, or if you will-highly inappropriate for anyone who is a professional. I do market myself and as you can probably see by my previous posts, that I don't ask simple, indignant, and inept question to find the easiest way possible to market "me" using other's ideas. I simply asked if it were appropriate to follow up with letters, or the like, because I am well aware that some things just are not accepted by some. I wasn't asking for a freebie or a handout. I truly apologize for coming off like that. HOWEVER, your answer to my question was just as important as any other that I have received here, and taken into consideration as well, and I do appreciate your effort. I am also VERY aware that signing co's, title co's, etc., do frequent sites like this and to be nasty, rude, catty, or jumping all over someone simply isn't a good idea for business either. I am not suggesting that YOU did that at all, but you mentioned that someone else may have done so, and am grateful that they didn't. Have a great idea, and I will certainly heed yours, and everyone else's advice! I frequent this forum everyday, and truly appreciate all that I have learned here and in the field.
