I would have a problem not being paid the full fee if I've done the job. The fact that the loan doesn't fund or is rescinded has no baring on my part of the agreement, which is to get the docs signed correctly and returned timely. If the borrower(s) sign and I return the docs, then my contract with the TC or SS is fulfilled and I expect full payment. If the borrower refuses to sign or is a no show, then trip & print fees are in order. If they want to pay me full payment, that's fine too.

Well, since they are not part of "Signing Central" yet, can someone post their address, phone, web site so we can link this thread to it? Someone in the future might find this helpful.

rescinded closing 1/2 the quoted fee signed documents but not funded 1/2 the quoted fee
I agree with LKT that I have a problem with these two issues. In the past I've traveled pretty far distances for Linear and wouldn't be too happy with 1/2 fee on those deals, especially on a rescind or no-fund on signed and returned docs. And I have run into some screwy docs with them so the possibility of a no-sign is there.
It's interesting that they demand perfection from the notary or we get significant reductions on our fee, but when I jump through hoops to help them fix their errors at the table, they don't offer any compensation or even pay the FedEx Kinkos fees I incurred even though they had told me they would over the phone. (OK, another story for another day...)

This file I did was 152 copies (one copy) and a 35 miles one
way. I will get them posted on signing central.

If these are new policies....
Did they make you aware of the changes in rates BEFORE you took the closing? If not, you may be able to argue for your full fee.

Re: Linear Title has new conditions regarding notary payment
Over 30 days.
I have not been paid for a 2/22/08 signing in which I printed docs, made trip, and borrower canceled while I was on his front door. Repeated inquires have net: Zero.
