MISPELLED NAME
IF I NOTARIZED A QUITCLAIM DEED AND THE PERSON'S SIGNATURE AND NAME IS MISPELLED:
EXAMPLE: DONALD SANDERS
AND HE WRITES AND SIGNS HIS NAME DANALD SANDERS
IS THE DOCUMENT STILL LEGAL? CAN I E SUED? WILL I LOOSE MY NOTARY?
HELP ME PLEASE!!!

You should contact the client to verify that corrections may be made to the documents prior to making any actual corrections. Usually, they ask to draw a single line through the mistake with a pen, print the correction above, below, or to the side of the mistake, and have all borr. initial the correction. Good luck!

Natogan Shannon called me this morning. If I understood correctly (he was coming through very faint), the signers ID has the mispelled name on it too, not how he signs the document.
I suggested he ask a CA notary for correct information.

Oh, got you, Sylvia. Then he must use two credible witnesses, who could identify the borrower' name.

The basic rule of thumb for notarization should be that the person's name on document must match his/her ID.
