OT: Prayers please
I just got off the phone with my very upset daughter. Some friends of hers were killed when the twin engine jet they were flying in crashed in NC this morning.

OT: Prayers go out! In addition, from the news story ...
... it looks as if the pilot _may_ have spared lives on the ground by going between two houses! There may have been enough control left at the last moment to avoid damaging other people and property. That's definitely something to pass on to kin!
Please keep in mind that I'm not a licensed pilot; I've only had a couple of dozen hours of training. Three of my friends were able to crash-land aircraft without loss of life, two 'copters and one fixed wing.

John was an experienced pilot. He owned Blue Sky Airways. It is possible that he was able to control where it hit. John was at the controls when it left, but one of the other men was also a licensed pilot and could have been at the controls. I guess the FAA will figure out which one was at the controls.

Prayers to your daughter and her friends' families. It is hard to lose someone close to you, but I pray your daughter will realize, as my 18 yr daughter had (thru a tragic loss) that life is so precious and we all really need to take the time and thank the good Lord that we are able to wake up each day. (Not trying to get all religious and sorry if I offend anyone.)
Prayers out to you...

Thanks Cari - no offense taken. Sharon is 41 (my eldest daughter)and has lost quite a few people close to her over the last few years. When her husband moved to GA (Before they were married) he lived with his aunt and uncle. October 2004, his uncle fell off a ladder at home and died. Then his aunt's grandmother, who had always lived with them died. Then in October 2005 the 2 year old son, belonging to my daughters husband's cousin (who also lived at the house) fell into the pool and drowned. Plus over the years she has lost both sets of grandparents.
