PC Mobile Notary OUT OF BUSINESS
His site is down and states hes out of business, Todd Belew? (not sure if that's how you spell it) still owes me $100 for this signing. Spoke with LO, he got a check cut to him on 12/19/07.

Shocked!
I am really shocked. I have done signings for Todd and had excellent service from him in the past. He always paid a fair fee and he will be missed.
Hopefully you can get this resolved with him, quickly. Good luck!

I have one unpaid too
Sad news. I just called the title company on the one I did Dec 5 and was startled to learn that the borrowers had used their RTC, so no funds were disbursed, which means PC Mobile Notary didn't get paid, which is undoubtedly why I haven't been paid. So PC Mobile Notary worked for free, and so did I. It would have been nice to at least get a call letting me know the borrowers rescinded instead of leaving me hanging waiting for payment. Sigh

Re: I have one unpaid too
I guess this has not yet happened to me - but there is a document in alot of Mortgages that says if the Borrower exercises their RTC, all they are on the hook for is the Appraisal Fee.. BUT - the Lender - arent they still supposed to pay any 3rd parties who did work in good faith such as the Flood Determination, credit reports etc?? Shouldnt the Notaries still get paid too even if the deal falls thru?? Actually - I did have a RESPA signing, the lady was like "Cant you come any Sooner?" So I got there as quick as I could, THEN when I arrived, she said she felt rushed and wouldnt even complete the RESPA.. BUT - I still got Paid.

There is no doubt! Notaries who do the work MUST be paid!
If we show up as scheduled (or rescheduled), conduct the signing, and drop the docs, we deserve our entire fee. Period. Whether the borrower(s) cancel(s) has zero to do with the fact that we did our job. Professional service == professional pay.
If you take less then you are hurting yourself and our profession.
