We hear you Rebecca. If you intend to become a 'signing agent' I suggest you familarize yourself with everything revelent to a real estate closing in the State of FL, and throught the USA. Probably your best source of reliable information would be Sylvia, or PAW on this board.

Congratulations on your Commission...just curious
what type of work are you looking to do? and what kind of experience do you bring to the table at 21 years of age?

Re: Congratulations on your Commission...just curious
The St Petersburg area has more than enough signing agents. Most of Florida is saturated especially the larger cities.
But according to your profile you have worked with a mortgage company for 5 years, auditing files while working in the licensing department. And you have done 500 closings. Surely with you working in the mortgage industry you must have contacts.

Re: and how has she done 500 closings if she's just become
She could have done the closings, but someone else would have had to do the notarizations.

"...recammend..."
Please, if you don't know how to spell a word, consult a dictionary. Sure, typos happen, but because you didn't capitalize your state, it is doubtful that this is the case here.
When entering a public forum inhabited by many, many professionals, which includes more than a "few companies," your presentation should inspire confidence in your abilities to represent yourself as a professional to the public and to those who hire you.
My apologies if this sounds harsh, but making a living, a good living, in this world today is a tough row to hoe. The competition is growing, and the market is shrinking. Presentation only gets you in the door; performance is mandatory for success. If you can't get in the door, the prospects are dim. Misspellings, lack of punctuation, grammatical errors - all send negative messages. So too, does the lack of understanding the importance of the nomenclature of the industry you are entering. For instance, notaries public are commissioned by Secretaries of State, not licensed.
While I would not recommend any company for which I work to you, I wish you all the best.

TC response to [a prospective signing agent's refusal to interview]
"...I related to you the reason we are careful about whom we select. We are not a national company. I couldn't care less about their requirements. Furthermore, membership on various message boards, associations and/or quazi-associations, or the number of companies with whom you have signed up, are meaningless to us. We have worked hard to serve and retain our clients. We have had unpleasant experiences, as I pointed out to you, with several of the notaries we have tried without getting to know how they conduct a signing. I don't consider a ten or fifteen minute meeting to be jumping through hoops. Honestly, I am just trying to find a dedicated vendor who meets our needs and is willing to provide a simple assurance that they will be met."
Welcome to the real world, Pedro.
