Catnip, Yes, I have the number. They called me today, February 15, and their number is 949-643-7005. Hope this helps, and I also will be staying away from SOX.

Thanks! I'll be calling them. They have an "F" rating on BBB, several complaints filed on RipOff Report.com. from what I understand, they are should be under investigation by the FBI. Why are they even thinking aobut calling a Notary I wonder.

They do operate under the same business model...

They don't pay well, when and if they do pay at all. They are able to stay in business by roping in the new/uninformed Notary to work for them for free.It seems as though alot of Notaries let them escape payment by "writing off" the loss, instead of filing suit against them.

Just rec'd call from SOX

Just rec'd a call about 15 minutes ago from SOX for a refi tonight at 6 for $65. Told him I charge $125. He asked would I take it for $65. if they threw business in my area my way. I told him I have to hold firm to my price. I remembered reading the negative posts regarding this company. He said he would call back if he could get my $ approved. If he does, I'll be telling him thanks but no thanks. I wouldn't expect him to call back anyway. Number for them was 949-448-7872.

Another call from SOX

Said they would meet my price. Told them thanks but given their reputation I would have to decline. He acted surprised. "What do you mean we don't pay? Of course we pay." Told based on the tremendous feedback on the company, I can't accept. I don't work for nothing.

I recieved payment from SOX after I filed a complaint with the BBB and filed a police with my local dept. I had them fax the report to the Orange County Sherriffs office economic crimes division. They will pass it on the the FBI if they think this company is being fradulant. I also emailed the VP Operations and told she should be ashamed to be working for a company that does not pay it's notaries, she was shocked. I got a call five minutes later from the snotty little accounts payable girl. You gotta feel sorry for her cause she is probably just doing her job. It is the president and owner who is responsible. If all of you would do the same then maybe something could be done about this company. Of all the companys with complaints I think this is the one that truly stands out and should receive an award for being the most arroagant and certainly the one with the most complaints. The BBB states something like 550 complaints. Good luck to anyone collecting and please consider at least getting in touch with the Orange County Sherriff, really nice and very helpful people.

Excellent info - filing w/OC Office.
I filed w/ the BBB, but I'll go that route.
I agree - it takes time to file, but it's worth it!
Thanks & good luck to you & the rest of the SOX victims!
