Sign on the X Same as Sox?

I looked them up but it seems no one is clear. 949 area code. $65.00 to go 45min. each way. No way!!! Told them my fee XXX and said would have to clear with lender. Know they won't, but feel good because I was pretty sure they had a bad reputation. Am I wrong?

Yes, they called back and met my fee, almost double. Told him I wouldn't do it because they don't pay and he said "we don't pay?" I said "yes! Look on Notary Rotary, you have a bad reputation. Bye!" Something else. Where he wanted me to do the signing there are no notaries. Good luck!!

Experience always seems to be the best teacher, but for crying out loud does it always have to be a bad one. Years ago SOX met my fee and I spent a year collecting it, never ever work for them, they'll say anything to get their loans closed and will never honor their agreement without a huge fight.

Re: They could agree to your fee, but you'll never get paid,

They called me this morning with work in an area that I was pretty sure that they were going to have a hard time getting someone to go to. A long way on dirt roads. I quoted them my price, their counter offer was about 1/2. I declined and told them to shop around. About an hour later, they called back and met my fee. I said "great, let me give you my Paypal info." "Why do I need that?" she replied. "If I am going to take work from you, I need payment in advance?" "I'll get back to you" That was about 30 min ago.

This shows that they have every intention of making it very difficult for me to collect. If they were straightforward, they would have gone ahead with the transaction. Of course, the day is not over yet, but they had better hurry, as I don't drive out there in the dark.

People are not in a hurry to help newbies, but . . .

All newbies need to know this:

Sign on the X, (SOX)
Unitied Notaries
Signatures Plus

. . . it does not matter what they promise you will never see a dime.

Re: People are not in a hurry to help newbies, but . . .

Reiterating what many have previously said, but the SOX soap opera is now many years in the making, and yet, they remain in business, apparently still doing biz in the same manner. Does this speak to the number of notaries still getting into the buisiness, the number not reading message boards, something else I am missing, or a combination of all of these?
