$ 50.00 Signing
I recieved a call for a signing today, it was over 45 miles one way..for $ 50.00! Hey good news she said they were overnight docs. I said I would not take any signing for $ 50.00! She was very nice, but I politely declined! I wonder do they feel bad calling with such a low ball amount?

Re: $ 50.00 Signing, why would they, its not personal
its business and I don't feel bad declining anything that is not beneficial to me. We are all in business to make a profit only our model changes. The reason that they keep calling and offering is because there are those who will do it for that price. Just like I shop Home Depot rather then the more expensive stores, or Nordstrom Rack instead of Nordstroms, or whatever. I like a deal and I suspect so do you and so does everyone else.

I had a call like that today too. Said it was a "small" reverse mortgage. Asked what a "small" reverse mtg package was like - she wouldn't answer me. I said No.

"Small" reverse mortgage - no such thing.
Reverse mortgages are by definition more complicated than regular loans, and seniors love to talk: they are so lonely and also so interesting. I think they could turn 20 pages into an hour signing.
One time I took a low fee to get one paper signed. They told me it would only take 5 minutes. Of course - just a Grand Deed. Except they refused to sign the Grant Deed unless they had all kinds of promises and stuff from the ex they were giving the property to that he would give it back. Something convoluted like that. I was there for two hours while everyone was back and forth on the phone with this other person and they were faxing and emailing stuff. A big mess. No one knows how long anything is going to take. Now when I get a "just" a Grant Deed signed, when I confirm the appointment, I briefly discuss it with them to see if there are already problems or not.

I have seen RM packages with around 60 pages....including the 2 notes and 2 mtgs.
