closing quest
we have talked about them before. I followed up today after 30 days and inquired about payment. NOw Rikki Cogdill says their policy is payment in 60 days. From some posts on here it is more likely 90 days. Well I sure learned my lesson Mike

Re: closing quest, my quest is to collect
Haven't been paid for closing done 8/21/2007, latest message from Rikki "Thanks for your patience." I'll never do another closing for them, TC said they paid them 9/10/2007. Over 180 days, my patience has run out and will notify them I am filing lawsuit tomorrow. I will include court costs of course plus interest and late fees. Enough of giving these SS's interest free loans.

60 days huh? How about this for the ones I did last year (non this year or in the future): 124 days, 147 days, 89 days, 160 days, 103 days.
All required multiple followups. I did eventually get paid for them all. Problem is that I cannot afford to lend out interest free loans and carry any SS.

I have completed a lot of signings for Closing Quest and although they have been very slow at paying over the last few months, they have always paid what they owe. Apparently they have been going through some back office changes that have caused some problems, but it seems as if they have just about worked out all of the kinks and they are paying in a much more timely manner. I am glad I stuck with them through the transitions.

Like Tammie, I've been using Closing Quest for several years. I've been paid very quickly, and sometimes, not as quickly. But I've been paid...and their checks have always been good. They are nice folks and they'll work with you around your schedule. I'm not trying to be smart, but if you need immediate cash flow, get a regular job, and do many closings on the side. Eventually the accounts into your business will increase and your "pipeline" will remain consistent. Then, leave your regular job and stay even more active. No one wants to hear stories about a closer not being paid for a single closing done six months earlier, and how they're going to contact an attourney. That comes across as whining. I'm sure I've done quite a few closings over the years pro bono, even with my present clients. But I'm not going to throw out my collection of "Van Gogh's" just because of a few smudges on the canvas. I do sincerely wish you the best of business. I'll continue working with Closing Quest.

FIRST OF ALL, LET'S GET A FEW THINGS STRAIGHT. CLOSING QUEST IS A FAIRLY GOOD SIZED COMPANY, THEY AREN'T A MOM AND POP SHOP AND THEY AREN'T JUST STARTING THEIR BUSINESS. THEY HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR A WHILE NOW. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THE BEHAVIOR THEY HAVE SHOWN.
SECONDLY, CONTACTING AN ATTY IS WHINING!!! WHEN A PERSON OR A COMPANY FAILS TO COMPLY WITH A CONTRACT, THAT IS GROUNDS FOR LAWSUIT, NOT WHINING. HOW ELSE ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO MAKE PEOPLE STICK TO THEIR WORD THESE DAYS? WHEN YOU AGREE TO PREFORM WORK FOR A COMPANY AND THEY TRY TO STIFF YOU FOR YOUR PAY, REQUESTING THAT YOU BE PAID IS NOT WHINING!!! THIS IS A COMPANY WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, ONE THAT IS PROFITABLE, ONE THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR THE SERVICES YOU RENDERED. THIS ISN'T CHARITY. I'M NOT GOING TO SACRAFICE MY PAYCHECK, NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL IT IS, FOR ANYONE, LET ALONE A PROFITABLE COMPANY.

Bailey TN: we love that you post and keep us updated
on SS's, but would love you more if you wouldn't shout. All caps is considered shouting. Also, it is more difficult to read. Thanks.
