cogent closing associates - anyone been paid yet?

I'm a little leery of them, having read the sketchy posts in the search section, has anyone actually been paid yet? I don't know Coversign's history but it doesn't sound good. I took an appt with Cogent, have yet to complete it, but would like to know if they're above board. All info is greatly appreciated!

I received a call from Carmella at Cogent two days ago, saying she was preparing my check for a job I did about three weeks ago. She wanted to know what my tax ID # is. If payment shows up in the mail today or tomorrow, I'll post it to this thread. My take is that they severed their relationship with Coversign, although the Coversign name was still located in two places on the notary instructions in my package.

If Cogent=Coversign

If Cogent is Coversign, your odds are not very good. Another agent on another forum got a call from Cogent, checked out their history(Coversign) and refused the closing assuming that Cogent is Coversign. If someone can verify this Cogent/Coversign connection it sure would clear up the smoke and give clarity whether or not to refuse work from Cogent.

My understanding is that Cogent used to use Coversign to secure the notaries for their closings. A few weeks ago, Coversign/Cogent came up on the Signing Agent Yahoo Group and I gave someone the phone number for Cogent to try and collect money he's owed by Coversign. He called and was told by Cogent that they no longer use Coversign and they get calls all the time from notaries that are owed by Coversign.

I did a signing 1/11 for CoverSign/Cogent, not aware of their rep. I have called twice, but had to leave messages. I'm sending inquiries of the written form next. Will post if and when paid.
Also, they agreed to a fee in the xxx range. Easier said than done, apparently!
