Go to Signing Central & check 'em out BEFORE you make that trip or print those docs.
Nothing wrong with 'calling 'em back & declining the signing due to payment issues'. Just don't wait until the last minute to do that. Even if they are weasels--don't you be one, too.

Agree with Lee, I accept then start searching for signs of non pay issues and don't dilly dally jump on the search as soon as you take the job.

I agree - with the above responses BUT also - I seem to get alot of calls where they want the deal done with very little notice - like 2 hours - not alot of time to figure out if they are non payers or not!

About 6 or 7 months ago I made it a blanket policy not to take a signing if they call me after 5pm for the same night. Its worked out for me very well because I used to take late afternoon appointments for the same day and I swear just about each and everyone of them was a problem. I found that when Brokers call for a closing to be done the same day, they are trying to ram a deal down some ones throat. So I just stopped doing it and I have to tell you my life is a little less stressful since.
Good luck.

Peter, I made the same decision a while ago and I agree it's much less stressful! Those last-minute emergency jobs are always a pain in the rear and the hardest to collect on!

Re: Look up at blue tabs - Signing Central - Rescission

Hopefully the owners of this site will take down the 2007 Rescission Calendar, or just add a new one for 2008 soon!!

The rescission calendar on front page is for most of you.

The one on the Signing central page is for those of us who know how to move in the space-time continuum... Wink
