Another Notary - and respect

I was called early this afternoon asking if I would complete a closing in Belleview this evening at 6:00 p.m. It was a single refi and a split package. The notary who called me stated that she was "authorized" by the title company to seek out other notaries who were not in her area. She also stated that she would pay me within four weeks of theclosing regardless she was paid or not. I was somewhat reluctant to take the assignment becuase I absolutely HATE split packages but I told her I would do it for her at $$$ dollars. She stated that well, split packages were easy and she has had other notaries take assignments from her for less that I quoted. I said to her, well, that's what I charge and I will do it for you if you want me to. She said she would send me a confirmation. I waited for an hour or so for the confirmation then called her back. She said that she wasn't at a computer but would go there right now and send it to me. Well, guess what - I never got it, never got to docs, never got a phone call telling me it had either been cancelled or she found someone else to do it at a lower price. I think we get so much flake that at least another notary should at least respect someone of their own profession, with a little respect. Thanks for letting me vent. This just really pi**ed me off. (but then again, guess its better to ----- and you know the rest)

a notary waiting if she could not find someone for her to keep more $$$$

I had a similiar call yesterday. Was for a signing in my town, at 6pm for today.I gave a price she said that was good I will send confirmation over. Never got confirmation, called the caller id number this morning wasn't answered by a business, the phone # was 949-458-5951.
Why is someone just wasting our time?

I posted it after reading the first post and it sounded like someone was just messing with us, and I wanted others to know. But the company did call me back this afternoon saying the people want to close tomorrow instead. So I told her I never received confirmation and we got that fixed. The phone number doesn't match the company when you Google it. Suspicious I guess
