Another one bites the dust!!

This is the note I received after trying to collect a returned check fee from this company....This was after waiting alot longer then the 30 days for 2 invoices going back to October 2007.I was sent a check that bounced, charged $20 for it, now she claims she can't pay a measly $ 20 bucks.....Don't take any chances on working for her and if she owes you good luck getting paid.

"My bank will not honor third party fees and I am not financially able to cover 3rd party fees either. The cycle of being out for surgery and having my car broken into during this bad Real Estate market has rendered me insolvent. I will not be able to pay my bills and have spoken to my husband and decided to meet with my CPA and Attorney to determine if I need to file bankruptcy for my business AND personal. I don't take this lightly ..I have been in business for over 11 years and built a solid reputation. This company was like my baby, but time and circumstance have left my hands tied. I apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will forgive me one day".

Respectfully,

A. Rochelle Bell

I'm not out much....She just didn't communicate with me...didn't return calls or e-mails...the old stall job....I just want other Notaries to be aware of her situation, so no one else gets stiffed.

It's one thing to get stiffed for the job, but to write a

bad check so someone will be charged $20 or more when it bounces is beyond comprehension. I have no sympathy for someone that pulls those kind of stunts. If it were me, I'd see if she could be prosecuted for writing the bad check, if so you will get paid and get your bank fees.

I beleive very State Attorney's office has a Check Fraud Division. Take it to your State Attorneys office at your nearest County Court House. It may take many months but you will get paid. Or a warrant will be issued for his arrest. Trust me I know. Been there, done that. Or he could choose jail time but I doubt it.

I dealt with this loser about a year ago. She never wants to pay you. I went to the Title Company involved and they forced her to pay. What these signing companies don't realize is that it is a felony to accept the check from escrow and then not pay the notary who did the work. I have taken several of them to small claims court and I have always collected more than the original fee.

I'm glad to see this message as she has not answered phone calls or emails so I had no clue what was going on. As of tomorrow payment is 60 days past due.

On Friday I made another attempt to call her and the phone was answered by someone named "Amber" who said the company was bought out but refused to answer who was the new owner. She was very evasive and only kept saying to call back on Monday and re-submit demand letter and just hung up. Quite unprofessional and doesn't bode well for Ms. Bell or the new company. Another attempt just minutes ago to call went unanswered.

If she's being truthful about her plight then I am sorry for that and could forgive her had she the integrity to notify everyone owed prior to them seeking collection or, at the very least, responded to phone calls and emails. There is no excuse for losing integrity and very hard, if at all possible, to regain it.

I will follow through with BBB and contacting Title. Doubt it will lead to positive end, but we must follow-through to send the message to everyone that we just don't "write it off."

Just tried to call for payment on a Jan 25, 2008 signing. Both 916 and toll free numbers are not working. I emailed both addresses on the web site but from reading this, I don't expect a reply.
I think the company's officially gone.
