Final Step, LLC

The Final Step, LLC is not returning calls, not paying for a closing on 9/21/2007. I have called 40 times, e-mailed, and even Lendingtree settlement services AKA Home loan center stated that they have received numerous complaints of non payment, they also state it is not their responsibility because they paid them.

Avoid this company.

It was my previous understanding that Home Loan Center was using SOX as their primary company to hire notaries. Websites for both companies referenced the connection between the two.

Many notaries would call Home Loan Center to complain about SOX and this usually expedited payment within SOX's guidelines.

The "it's not our responsiblity because we paid them" argument is wearing thin with me. Surely these companies are responsible for conducting their own due diligence in the hiring process.

Is The Final Step, LLC another d/b/a for SOX as Signatures Plus is a dba for SOX. Hmmmmmmm.

No, they are different. It took me over 2 months to received payment from Final Step, after calling Lending Tree e/o/d to complain, finally Gary from Final Step was getting tired of me and he should of, I was bashing him hard on this forum and he did not like it, oh well, I call it as I see it.
For all of 2007 I have been stiffed by 2 companies, Signatures Plus and A2Z Notary for xxx.xx amount of dollars. I feel pretty fortunate that is was just 2 and not alot more.
I think Final Step has had their "Final Step" and it should be that way, ( those @#*@&@# !!!)
and very sorry for those who have not received payment from them.

I also was stiffed by this company. The sad part is it was my first signing so I got a pretty bad taste after that. However, after reading the other comments under their company name, it appears as though there are many of us who have been bitten by this company. I guess those that paid late are the luck ones. I called, I wrote, and I emailed.....nothing!
