Re: Wow, she is perfect.

I was always a fan of Dusty Springfield. She used to sing with her brother and a friend as "The Springfields"
Was sad when she passed away in 1999.The day she died she was supposed to receive her O.B.E from the Queen. Instead her manager collected it while she was in the hospital and presented it to her in the hospital. She was very much loved in England

"Son of a Preacher Man"... oh, the memories I have...

We had an old Rockola juke box in our kitchen when Carson was little. She loved playing with it. That song, much to the dismay of her grandparents, was the FIRST song learned by my daughter in its entirety, at age 2, singing to the Rockola. She used to sing it to pieces (inflections and all) whenever prompted. Just imagine a curly-topped blondie (think Shirley Temple) at age 2 with a proper Southern accent singing "Son of a Preacher Man" at the top of her little lungs.
Thanks, Sylvia... this one brought back hilarious memories for me.

As an aside, guess what the second song was that she learned? George Thorogood's "Bad to the Bone" followed closely by Patsey Cline's "Crazy".
