First of all in Texas Home Equity loans and refi's of homesteaded property must be signed in a title company or attorney's office, which as you are a paralegal probably won't be a problem for you.

I didn't know you needed to submit an application....I better check that out...I wanted to see what my opportunities were before I invested $$ in the Notary license

The laws are pretty much the same as they were when your last commission expired.
There are some assoc.'s that will charge an all inclusive fee to submit your appl. for commission that will include your bond/insurance.... and throw in a handbook and stamp.

There are probably over 30 posts, written by experienced signing agents offering a wealth of wisdom and advice. Study msg.# 33325.
