My Notary Biz

I have been using this online scheduling system for about 5 years and I received an email letting me know that as of March 31st 2008, they will no longer be in business. This was the best online scheduling system geared specifically for notaries. I will be lost without them. Does anyone know of another site that is comparible to them? What are notaries using to manage all their appointments? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

These days isn't a few post it notes enough to manage all our appointments?

You seriously need an online scheduling system to manage this business? I use a single excel spreadsheet with a tab for each month, never felt like I needed anything beyond that.

Yes, I actually do. We average about 20 appointments a week. We have been doing this for 7 years and there were times we would be doing 50-100 per week. So post it notes just won't cut it for me. Thanks for your suggestion though.

For the past 4 years I've used an Excel spreadsheet for everything. Now I'm using Outlook Calendar function for appts. and Quickbooks for everything else.

I have been using google calender and I think is the best IMO. It can notify you by email the night before. I love it. I have 6 on the books for next week.

I use Outlook and sync it to my Blackberry.

My outlook has MS Maps, which allows me to map it and use that as a milegage log. I can include as much or as little info as I want. I include a lot. I love the system!

I'm as busy as anyone and a nice day planner works as well as anything.

Just me but I would never, ever have put my schedule on a web site created by/for notaries. I'm sure someone else had access to your info. I have been stabbed in the back more than once in this business - I wouldn't trust 'someone' to have access to my client list and schedule.

I'm with CaliNotary and BarbaraL_CA

I use my Palm Pilot synch'd with Outlook for scheduling, and Excel for keeping track of confirmation with borrowers, payment amount and date, companies, et cetera.

I do _not_ claim that my Excel Spreadsheet is the best answer for everyone, just that it has worked very well for me. For anyone who would like to try that approach, I have created a sanitized sample; use send email and I'll email a copy to you.
