New Law
Can you line through "personally known to me" and initial on the acknowledgements and jurats?

I am not in CA, but from what I have read here, you really should be using the new forms completely. As I recall there is wording that is not in the old ones, that is there in the new ones.

I am not in CA either but from what I have seen and read the new forms also have under penalty of perjury added to them.
You are best to go to the SOS for CA and they have the new forms there you can download from what I have heard.

No, not at all. There is new wording and it has to be used. Click on the notary supplies button above and order what you need. You'll get the right forms, in a few days and at a good price. Another thing you might want to do is to review your handbook, you'll find the answers to your questions there.

Re: New Law - The official statement of the SOS is...
"Variations to the California form are not permitted." The new form also has "I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Califonria that the foregoing paragraph is true and correct"
The SOS has interactive forms available for completion and download at:
www.sos.ca.gov/business/notary/notary.htm
Both the Acknolsedgement and Jurat are there to download

No, you cannot. You have to use the new wording in its entirety including the new perjury wording, which you cannot just type or print on an old form.
