OT: rebate processor email

Rcvd a long email offer regarding earning money processing rebate offers. Cost to get signed up is close to $200.00. Anybody else get such an email?

Yes, I received one. Looked legit until I googled the lady's name. I can't remember it off the top of my head, but it is quite a scam. You have to continously buy ads to enter the rebates , something like that. Sorry, can't remember it all, but don't do it is all I can say.

There are some sites offering the same thing for $29.95, I've been getting 3 or 4 of these a day from different people in my spam mail. It's a big scam, if you google it you can read about all of the people that got ripped off.

This scam has been going on for quite some time. They are looking for people to search the public records for FHA MIP rebates. FHA loans have not been the 'in' thing for at least seven years and FHA loans from back then are few and far between. While it is not a scam with regard to the MIP rebate, it is very difficult to find such loans and such borrowers that were not given the rebate upon satisfaction. If you like to search and research...it's a fun job, but don't expect to make the money 'they' promise.

Look for legit opportunities like photo inspections and field inspection jobs if you are looking for extra money to help you through these tough times. I love doing my little $10-$20 photo jobs. I'm not getting rich, but when I can do a photo inspection on my way to a closing, I just paid for my gas.

Good luck and beware of the scammers.

Is there a job around that charges a fee to sign up that's legit? Any company that basically says "send us money and we'll show you how to make easy money" screams SCAM to me.
