Pet peeves: we all have 'em
Advise: verb which means action advice: noun, that which names

These are really bugging me today. REALLY! I am going to lose plants to freeze tonight, and that is bugging me more!
Happy New Year, 2008! I still love you all, in spite of all these inconveniences. Whew! Rant over

You took the words right out of my mouth.
I've seen advise used for advice about 10 times today alone. I know we all mean well also.

Same here - and no ill will meant towards anyone; I just want all my friends to be perfect, such as I. teehee!

Notary-related pet peeves
A notary public is a person; a notarization is an action.
"The signer must always be present for a notarization." In states which allow copy certifications, there is no signer, and there is no explicit rule that the document holder must be present (although that's usually a good idea).
Aside: did you know there are notaries who are not notaries public? Thawte (http://www.thawte.com/secure-email/web-of-trust-wot/index.html) has "thawte Notaries". The Catholic church has church notaries.

I have seen some fast and lose use of words on the board, but I try not to loose my mind over it.
