RELIACLOSE job in Princeton, IN for Fri
If you accepted this assignment I just wanted you to know that it was first assigned to me . During our conversation I expressed my concern that the fee they were offering was a little low for the distance I had to travel. I did received email confirmation of the assignment.
Shortly thereafter they called telling me they had reassigned the closing to another closer that lived closer. I told them while their fee was low I had accepted the job and they should honor their contract and call this person back reassigning it to me. I feel we had a contract. What are your thoughts?

Unfortunately, this goes with the territory. Ultimately, it's their signing and they have final say over who they assign it to. They obviously went with someone even cheaper than the already low fee they offered you. At least they gave you a day's notice of the cancellation instead of a few hours. One of the risks you assume when dealing with signing services.

Maybe so, I have only done 10 deals for them all last year and it did take a long time for them to pay. Hopefully, I will get a better assignment to replace it.

I am curious about the closeness myself. There is only one other person closer and he doesnt have has TPL and is advertising on the NNA. Things that make you go hmmmmm.

<<<I expressed my concern that the fee they were offering was a little low for the distance I had to travel.>>>
That was a mistake. The SS probably viewed your "concern" as complaining. You should have settled this issue in your mind and not said anything. It would be wise to keep quiet and just either accept for decline an assignment. My base fee is solid, then I negotiate from that dollar amount. The SS makes an offer, I counter offer. Either they meet my fee, we come to a happy medium or they say "no thanks, I cannot meet that fee" and the call ends there.
TO ME, you really didn't have a contract because in the ***spirit of things***, you accepted their offer but you really didn't "agree" to it, there did not seem to be a "meeting of the minds". <<<.....I expressed my concern that the fee they were offering was a little low .........I told them while their fee was low........>>> The SS saw this and that's why I believe they reassigned the closing. This is only my opinion. I am not an attorney.

When the SS sends an email confirmation, I consider that a contract. You are right... I should have kept my concerns to my self, but they offered...I accepted...then they reneged. Not very professional on their part.
