What about your area?

On the headline news tonight it states that people are taking action and refinancing since the rates have dropped. The one draw back that they mentioned is that perhaps your area's home value has dropped so low that you can't refinance. That would be a shame.

What does that mean for the Signing Agent? What if the home sales in your area have gone way down the and people in your area can't refinance very easily. How will that effect your business? Any thoughts? Has your business picked up yet?

I have been very very busy in southern IL. I even had 2 today (Sunday). My phone has not stopped ringing all week. Made sure I was in and out of the shower by 8am before my phone started ringing. lol

Great for you Linda, Home values and bank guidlines will kill 50-70% of the apps out there in my area. If value of homes do go up I won't see it till Summer when the spring sales hit.

I know it's hard to believe with all the media hype, but there are still people out there with good credit and equity in their home. The new mini-boom will be comprised of these types of homeowners. I had a spectacular week last week and have closings on the books for next week too. Not everyone is in bad shape even with home prices down.

I can only speak for myself in my area..North East Ohio. My phone is dead! I can only hope I get something here for EOM. Anyone else from Ohio care to comment? Thanks, hope everyone has a good week!

Four from last week still need to be re-scheduled due to changes in rate. Have had several in low 5% range since Wednesday. According to one LO, the lenders have had problems meeting the demand with smaller staffs than they had previously with frequent delays common as a result. No real problem finding enough notaries public.

Lots of "A" paper loans

Few sub-prime.

I had a great week this past week. I quit my part-time job and just in time. My week started on Tuesday and I had a fabulous Friday. I had a 7pm in the mortgage office and picked up two other closing because the notaries did not show up. The branch manager asked for my business card and stated he needed a reliable notary. When I got there at 6:30, there was a couple that had been in the office since 5pm, the notary showed up just after I got there (1 1/2 hours late). The loan documents were printed there at the office just waiting on the notary. She said she got lost. I got out of there at 10:30pm, several loan officers asked for my business card too. They said business was very busy for them and they said they would ask the title company to send me for all their loans.
