exposure

Hi All,

I'm relatively new to being a signing agent. I've been at this for about 6 months now. Any suggestions on how to get better exposure? I am getting jobs here and there but when I talk to other SA's, I hear they get quite a few per day. I fill out alot of applications. Just not sure where the best place is to put myself out there. I am loving this so far and don't want to get discouraged by such a small amount of work. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Carol

Just keep doing what you are doing - depending on how saturated your area is - just be patient. I've been at it for 4 years now. I try to register with at least one or more new companies a day if possible

Sorry to disappoint you, but that's the way it is right now.

Use the orange search key and read for yourself. Those with years of experience are facing the same dilema and finding other things to do to supplement their loss of income as a NSA. Welcome to the real world of the NSA.

You may want to upgrade to a Premier membership to get your name more prominence.
But the Miami-Dade area is one of the saturated areas. And as you can see from reading this forum the amount of signings are not what they were a few years ago. There are a lot more signing agents too (Thank you NNA)

Could be those that are getting a few per day have more experience.

Just hang in thereSmile

Thank you Sylvia for the advice. I have been getting very mixed feed back on pay or not pay for advertising. However it seems that is really the only way to get your name out there. I'm not at all discouraged by the lack of work so far. Actually encouraged by the interest rate going down right now. I was more interested in which websites most people went to in order to find a signing agent. I don't mind paying at all as long as I know they are used by alot of companies.

As a Signing Service I can tell you that NotaryRotary is the first place I look for a Signing Agent.

A lot of it depends on where you are as well, Rural or urban.
I wouldn't pay for any listing unless they offer research as well. NNA has been the source of most of my work.

Here's something you can do

1. When you call the B. don't tell him your'e a Mobile Notary. Tell him you have some papers for him to sign on his house.

2. When they get all bright eyed and giddy at the kitchen table and want to know how they can do this wonderful thing you do,...(and they all do), Don't blurt out, duh...Its REAL EASY! Anybody can do it, and you get paid a WHOLE LOT of money for doing next to nothing. NO, tell them it takes years to learn real estate documents and to get certified, and that most nights you get home around midnight, and you wish you had your'e ol' job back.

3. Because, they are all broke, need money and are looking for some way to get it! You can explain entry into this business without realizing the damage you are doing by creating one "Mobile Notary" after the other.
Wise up and play the ease of becoming a Mobile Notary down so we can eat.

LOL, I don't recall ever saying anything about it being easy. Smile I can assure you I am on that very same page of not telling others about this type of work.

Some make it, some don't

I had a friend come down from Ohio and I trained her for 4 days of intensive training, imparted my hundreds of hours of research and marketing ideas about this business and sent her home with the best of wishes. She made around 1K. her first month and has a continual flow of calls. I was shocked considering the situation as it is. This may be rare but it has worked for her.
