I can notorize an acknowledgment for a "proof of service of summons"
my husband just served? In CA.
The new certificate of acknowledgment now asks for type of doc's attached, method of signer i.d., journal page, entry and notary contact.

You shouldn't notarize anything for a family member. n/m

Allowed or not, no way in h...ll would I do it! To many

potential problems down the road. When I was serving papers, a group of us got together that were in the same area and got our notary seals so we could notarize each others Affidavit of Service. That's why I initially became a notary, then I found out about closing loans and started do that in addition to the process serving.

In PA it can be done as long as the notary has no interest in the document/transaction

There are only certain relatives you cannot notarize for in Florida. But I wouldn't notarize for any relative! I have an agreement with another notary, she will do any notarizations for my family, and I will do notarizations for her family.
