Advertising???
I am sort of confused about all of this whereas this is a notary site where people are looking for work. I was simply offering those who were interested in the chance to earn some money while learnign about the REO auctions. THE POST WAS FOR ACTUAL OPEN JOBS that people may want to work. I was by no means trying to advertise my company. Sorry if that my intentions were interpreted as advertising.

Why not use this site as it was intended to be used...
and SEARCH for notaries by using the "find a notary" tab? At least show some effort on your part and make a few phone calls to earn 50% of our fee. Sheesh! Lazy, lazy signing services trying to make it big off the backs of the underpaid and under appreciated NSA.

When you advertise, Sherry
...you are doing exactly what this forum is not meant to do...put out a cattle call for a warm body to fill your position...gather up names for YOUR convenience.
It could be anyone who gets those jobs...especially NOT people who are using this database as a place to be found which is directly in opposition to the plan for this database, IMHO. Besides...as you know, people will fawn all over you to get into your database for these jobs...and really...who can know if they even exist!
You seldom agree with the notaries here. I don't know why you'd consider this particular argument any different and yet again post your indignation. I thought you were sick of the ingrates here who just don't understand.
I suspect that the posting of jobs were removed and aren't appropriate for this forum because:
1 - it doesn't apply to the greater portion of the entire membership; 2 - it doesn't require the ones getting the job to be a member of NR to "see" or "hear" of the job because anyone can read this board; 3 - you can use your signing service membership to make individual calls and find a notary rather than broadcasting and thereby accumulating a lot of attention to yourself; and 4 - this is a site NOT where people look for work but where work looks for them...directly...both signing services AND title companies; even lenders and foreclosure auction holders can seek a worker here; oh and... 5 - Like I said, you can pump up your own database by throwing out jobs so people contact YOU on the back of NR's hard work to create this database.
It's too bad that signing services are now poking into this type of business, as well. It's too bad that notaries don't say "no more" to this kind of treatment.
It never stops with middlemen like yourself, Sherry...again, if you'd take never more than $50 for yourself and pay the rest to the worker, I'd feel differently about your industry...as it stands, I call it greed preying on ignorance.
I would love every SS and sing their praises if they didn't take more than $50 for your jobs (a fair referral fee) and you made a few phone calls for those.
I am sorry Sherry, as usual, I cannot "feel" your pain because you don't want to make phone calls or screen applicants of a job which you are (imho) being overpaid to do by an entity who is shelling out borrower (or in this case, lender, I think) money and putting a cattle call out to make it easy on yourself (middleman).
I understand you feel you work hard for your money and all that. You have to make a call or two and you have to cut a check. Tough work.
I don't begrudge any of it to you. I just don't respect it much because you're getting too much of the unwary notary's fee. Kinda like the salesman who just ripped my mom a good one on her new A/C. She didn't "know" the money involved and she paid a ridiculous amount. Same with notaries who aren't clear on the upper end of the food chain. They work for peanuts.
BTW - you don't need to be a notary to fill these slots, do you? But what an easy place to toss out your jobs that need to be filled...if they in fact, exist. But who can know?
There's a host of notaries who will chastise me for being "ugly" to a signing service who posts here...but I know the money that's up the chain and what it is intended for...and it isn't intended to give 30% to the notary while the notary service broker gets 70%. I just don't respect that.

I am thoroughly confused. You can order Becca's field inspection company list that has been advertised on this board, get a favorable report posted by someone who purchased it but that's not advertising? Was that whole group of messages not advertising for Becca?

Sandra, there is a difference between an endorsement of a product unrelated to finding notaries and a signing service using this forum to cattle call rather than searching using Find A Notary.
Harry's had a history of signing services using this forum to create enterprises of their own and never giving Harry the respect of paying him a cent for it (as far as I know).

So we're going to split hairs as to what is advertising. The "product" is still the same -getting Notaries to sign up. Fully agree that Harry is due a monetary amount - only he can determine what it is worth to him and he should.

See my confusion with this too is that aren't notaries listed on this board and pay money to be a member so they can find work? This forum is an added benefit (in some cases).

Ok, let's try another tack...
I spoke with 2 different notarys this morning and mentioned that you, Sherry, were trolling for workers. They couldn't understand, both saying to me that you are another that doesn't answer their phone or emails. That being the case, why would I want to see you benefit from any posting here?
Pick up the phone, start punching numbers. It's not like the old dial phones that take so much longer....

I have never advertised my wares on this site because
I respect Harry and the website that he maintains for our behalf as notaries. I have advertised on some other sites that do not object to advertising.
I believe, what you are referring to is a post made by a notary in OH asking if what I offer is a good resource. I can not control what people post about me, my business or what I offer. Thankfully, many satisfied customers contributed to the post and verified what I have known all along, what I offer is a valuable resource at a very, very low price. When a question was raised asking how my product compared to a similar product costing nine times the price of my product, I responded to the poster. I responded because I had been asked the same question three times and did not have an answer because I refuse to pay $89 to get the information to answer the question.
Since the poster had already spent the $89, I thought I could finally get an answer to the question. I offered the poster my product for free if she would be willing answer the question honestly. Good, bad or ugly. But, isn't that what this forum is all about? We ask questions of our peers everyday...how's this company, what is your experience with so and so and is anyone doing this for extra income. We all come here for information, we come here for endorsements and information from our peers. An endorsement is not advertising, ask any AdMan and he'll tell you an endorsement is BETTER than advertising.
As a matter of fact, I have endorsed Brenda's Reverse Mortgage Book and PAW's magnetic signs. Why? Because I own both and feel they are valuable products that every NSA should have. Signing services, on the other hand, are a service that NSAs could live without.

to Bev - $50 FOR A PURCHASE
she had this discussion a few weeks ago where she tried to justify the fees. No matter how you twist it around IT'S STILL A PURCHASE with the responsibility that goes with it. Several have stated how easy they are. Sure are ... sometimes. What abuot the last one I did where the buyer's didn't have their funds because the wire from their sale hadn't arrived at the other title company ... we sat ... and sat ... and sat. The mysterious 'lender signed HUD' ... seems to be missing in action about 1/2 the time. Like any PURCHASE, all sorts of things can and do go wrong. Yes, they should be a 15 minute appointment (when it's a cash deal) but I'd say that 90% of mine have issues - and I do them for several different companies ... direct ... and I earn more than $50 .. BECAUSE THEY'RE PURCHASES.

I see it says to work the auction - I don't know anything about that - here it's handled by the courts not outside entities. The other week she was "justifying" what I posted about - the closings - since I didn't comprehend what I read ... my prior post.

If my sources aren't pulling my leg...and they NEVER HAVE...this would pay less to hang out all day at an auction for six hours than it would for me to go six blocks to do a RM w/o edocs and be through in 1.5 hours start to finish. LOL.

Unfortunately, for you, the lab has a lab collection site in your county. I work with a company that contracts for providers in the areas where the "Lab" has no coverage. I fall between PSL and Melbourne and the lab has decided it is more profitable for them to farm out this duty. It's real easy work and I get to work with a great gal from the south that now lives where I grew up in CA so you can imagine the phone conversations we have. Call it reverse world. She's Great!
Call me or email me, Julie. I'll give you the info, but I don't know that it will be beneficial.

I've seen you involved in a number of threads about the exact same issue, where it's all be explained quite clearly. And you're obviously not a stupid woman so please spare us the playing dumb act.
No, the advertising rule on the board is not enforced as uniformly as it should be. But that's life, tough noogies. Not everyone gets pulled over for speeding, but when you are, the "everyone else is speeding, how come you're giving meeeeeeeee a ticket" defense ain't gonna work.

Why do we have to keep covering this over and over and over?
Forget every argument we've given you for why what you keep doing is wrong, silly, and lazy (apparently you already have). The only argument that matters is that the people who own this site don't agree with you and keep deleting your posts. So learn the rules, get over it, and move on or, well, move on somewhere else. Freaking drama queen.
