Anyone use a Mac?
I just had yet another PC live out its useful days. I just decided to take the plunge and got an IMAC so far so good. Not much of a learning curve, not an expert but I am getting by enough to work....anyway. My question is does anyone use a Mac OS and are there any tips and tricks they might share? I also installed Parallel 3.0 and I am running a virtual desktop with Windows XP just in case I can't do something with the Mac, but so far the only trouble I have run into is with Adobe, it will not recognize both trays and print on letter and legal simultaneously. Any tips anyone?

Mac is definitely the way to go. I don't use Adobe although I have it. I use 'Preview' for opening and printing docs. Adobe has a tendency to try to take over other applications for my OS X so I shut it down.
There are lots of freebie and demo software including .pdf pen at this site;

Once you get used to Mac and unlearn Windows, you'll find it's a lot easier to use and doesn't crash or lock up nearly as often.

I use a Mac and my husband is a Mac computer consultant. I love it although I do have to use Parallels for some Windows applications and I have had a few printing issues as well, but got it sorted out. I use Preview to view as well, especially for larger attachments. Adobe sometimes doesn't work well with the larger attachments. There are some websites and also some documents that come in as a link where you need to use Windows and Parallels takes care of that.
Good luck....

Re: Thanks for the input, I am already really enjoying using
it and I don't find the process of unlearning windows a big chore! Kudos to Apple. This is a wonderful machine. Kudos on the price as well, for what I needed out of a PC I was in line price wise. My only question is virus, firewall and spyware software, I have read many a article that the Mac does not really need it. Now I am running Avast on the parallel side, What do you all say? What do you recommend?

Re: Thanks for the input, I am already really enjoying using
Apple was more intent on making a quality product whereas Windows was more intent on capturing marketshare. I've not had any virus, spyware, adware or any other malicious code problems.
In 'Preferences' I have the machine set to clear all personal data & to erase all cookies every time I shut down. Password Manager handles anything I don't want to try to remember.
