How do you define low cost?? I actually like the Kodak 1210S

which I am currently using as a field camera, I tend to lose or destroy cameras in the field. So far I love the Kodak Z 510, aand the Kodak Z 710 both of which are now gone and the last was the 1210S. I love the resolution and the optical zoom rather than the digital zoom which pixilates rather badly in most cameras. The Z710 is still available at a reduced price and the 1210S I baid $250 for. Good luck!

It's for photographic inspections and delinquency interviews...new co. says it has to have a date and time stamp. I don't want to spend a whole lot..I have 3 digital cameras, but none of them have the time stamp.

misty you sure the date/time stamp is not hidden/buried among the options... one of the dig i had it was... but i do like the kodak i have.. .it was very inexpensive as I seem to get any camera stolen so iI refuse to buy an expensive one... just don't buy it at circuit city or best buy as if any probs they will not stand behind it....

All cameras have date and time, none display it...

Your standard JPEG file has date/time taken data which you can see in the file's properties. No new camera will mar the image with it. Older high end film cameras had that option which actually exposed the film with itty-bitty led's.

In the early days some digital cameras mimicked that.

In both digital and film it was usually a selectable option.

You just don't find it on new digital cameras. It's obsolete.

If you get a cheap casio watch that shows both date and time on the face and tape it to a fishing pole, you could hold it out in front of the camera in the corner of the framed picture.

I use a SONY Model No. DSC-S75

I purchased it used for field inspection work and have had no complaints from the companies who hire me. The date and time stamp is in the lower right hand corner of each photo. It's an older camera but has given me no problem. Purchased it for less than $100. Had to spend close to $200 for a detachable flash because the flash that comes with the camera is just "fair to middlin'". I purchased this camera at Unclaimed Baggage (http://www.unclaimedbaggage.com/). They sell working but electronics (among other things).
