HELP! Brother MFC Problem
It has a demon. A couple weeks ago I bought a big fancy Brother laser all in one. 8860DN I think... all the bells and whistles, networked. Even got the second tray for it.
Nice machine.
But the network setup is a bit complex.
Today I tried scan to email for the first time... oops, something errored out.
Now the SOB Beeps 5 times EVERY 5 MINUTES!!!! It's still trying to do whatever it can't do to email that scan.
AAARRRGH
I have powered it down. I have hit canel 4327 times I have hit every other button on it at least twice. I have looked at the control software. I have cussed it (apparently I didn't get the voice activation module)
If it keeps this up through the night my brother is likely to fix it with a hammer
Anybody????

I know this sounds simple, and you probably have, but have you unplugged it?
That's sometimes the only thing I can do with a printer to empty its memory.
The other thing to try (I have to do this too) is to go to printer settings in the control panel and try to delete anything in the queue. That might not be what controls the email feature but you could give it a try.

Check the manual for a reset key combination. Something like hold down menu when you power up.

Nope, none of that helped... too bad too...
this was my version of the sorcerer's stone... if you had solved it I was gonna ask you to marry me.
As it turns out, in the fax menu there's a place to see and cancel pending fax jobs. Somehow it decided that scan to email jobs go in the fax que.
So now I know.

Hit Menu 5, 0 then 1 for reset then 1 for yes. This should reset the machine.
