No wonder this industry is going in the toilet. I guess that NSA doesn't value their time or expertise, then again maybe they have no expertise.

Well......I won't be doing any signings at those prices. My time & gas etc are worth more those prices. This is disgraceful that the NNA feels notaries are worthless. Some of these signings take hours. I worked with a title company last month that called at 4pm...finally got the docs at 830pm...got to the signing and got home at 1030p. And they think that is worth $65. What a crock !.......Shame on you NSA

Re: This is OUR fault!

Why can't we ORGANIZE a DECENT and PROFITABLE fee schedule so that NOBODY gets sucker punched?!

RE LAKE: This is OUR fault!

1. How do you suggest that you contact EVERY notary? What fees would YOU decide are credible? How about atty only states? Now that you have figured that one out....

2. Google why this would be collusion, price fixing, illegal and ............ should I go on?

Re: RE LAKE: This is OUR fault!

How can the NNA suggest a pricing structure and it's ok, but if the rest of us do it, it is price fixing? Doesn't make sense.

Re: RE LAKE: This is OUR fault!

If the NNA suggests a pricing structure would it make sense for some of the other Notary orgs, like NOT ROT to post their own suggested fees. I just wonder: when was the last time NNA even upped those fees???

Re: RE LAKE: This is OUR fault!

those are suggested prices. they cannot establish prices that a notary will charge. If everyone got tog to do it would def be price fixing

Re: RE LAKE: This is OUR fault!

I agree. Not only that, I don't think it makes sense. Everyone's circumstances are different and it just isn't feasible for across-the-board fees to take in so many different factors. Examples: rush hour traffic; winding mountain roads; 2-lane country roads; tolls; weather conditions; size of package and the other usual variations; and let's not forget expertise and competence of the notary! I certainly feel I'm worth more than someone who has had their commission for maybe a year and has done 50 signings...

Everyone runs their business differently, has their own costs-of-doing business, their own ideas about what they're worth, and their own marketing approaches.

It's not MY fault

I have a decent and profitable fee schedule. If someone else can't set their own, that's their problem, not mine.

As always, I fail to understand why anyone cares what anyone else charges. FIND THE HIGHER PAYING COMPANIES AND WORK FOR THEM ... THEY DO EXIST.

.25/mi ?

At this rate the NSA is losing more than .30/mi.

How can they afford to stay in business?
