LIA

In spite of knowing the tepid-to-downright-bad reputation of LIA, I accepted a modification signing from them on April 21st. In spite of my diligent efforts for the last 2 months, I remain unpaid.

I just called LSI (the title company that hires LIA) and spoke with two different women in accounting. (phone number there is 800-756-3524 ext 5740 for Nadia). Nadia and Debbie both told me that they are hearing a lot of complaints about LIA for not paying the notaries. LIA was paid for the job I did on May 6th, so they've been holding my money for 71 days now. Apparently, LSI most likely will stop using LIA. Nadia and the main office are addressing this issue and she took my number to call me back and let me know how to proceed.

I shouldn't take it personally when a company tries to stiff me, but I do. If I can put LIA out of business, I will. Or...any signing service that tries to keep the notary's money.

It really is not different than someone reaching in your wallet and taking out the money!

Zero sympathy for you

If you were dumb enough to do work for them knowing their reputation, you deserve to be stiffed.

Good for you for going to LSI. The best way to end that kind of nonsense (LIA) is to let the companies who are hiring THEM that they aren't paying the notaries. Reputable companies won't use ss that pull that kind of thing.
